Swipey AI Character Atlas
Swipey AI private characters and personal conversation data
Examine profile visibility, saved messages and account removal as separate questions; a private character label cannot answer all three.
Separate the character from the transcript
A fictional profile can have a visibility setting while the conversation remains part of a service account. Those are different records. Before disclosing anything personal, find the policy and controls that apply to messages, uploaded media and the account itself.
Do not assume a setting on a character card changes every form of service-side processing. If a document does not explain how a category is handled, preserve the unanswered question rather than describing the category as confidential by default.
Reduce what the exchange can reveal
Real addresses, employer details, recurring schedules and names can identify someone when combined. An invented setting is usually enough for an ordinary character conversation. Use fictional labels in a review notebook and omit information that is unnecessary for the question.
A photograph may reveal a background, badge or location even when the main subject seems harmless. The same principle applies to screenshots: a conversation capture can expose a username, account balance or message preview outside the part you intended to show.
Inspect removal controls by record type
Look separately for deleting a conversation, removing a custom character and closing an account. Write down what each control says it removes and whether a confirmation explains any exceptions. Do not infer a provider’s storage behavior from a button disappearing.
If you need to contact support, use the smallest relevant description. A neutral account identifier and the category of record may be enough to start a request. Sending the entire transcript can create an additional copy of the information you wanted removed.
A practical private-data notebook
Keep four entries: record category, visibility setting, stated retention and removal route. Add a fifth field for what remains unknown. This works better than a single green “private” badge because it shows where the explanation is incomplete.
Review the notebook again when the service changes a policy or you enable a new feature. A conclusion about text alone should not silently become a conclusion about voice or media.
A practical record
| Record | Question to verify |
|---|---|
| Character profile | Who can discover it? |
| Conversation | What retention and deletion terms apply? |
| Account | What does closure remove or retain? |
Privacy research is a record-by-record task. Keeping unnecessary personal details out of the conversation reduces what later needs to be managed.
